The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) has unveiled the candidate who will fly the party's flag in the upcoming Malava Constituency Member of Parliament by-election contest.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony of Joab Manyasi at the party headquarters in Karen, Nairobi, the DNA party leader Godfrey Osotsi expressed
“Hon. Manyasi embodies the values of our party. We believe the people of Malava are ready for a new chapter of leadership that puts their aspirations at the heart of governance,”he said.
Mr. Manyasi had previously unsuccessful contested the Malava parliamentary seat in 2017 under Ford Kenya and again in 2022 under the
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
While accepting the nomination, he assured the residence of Malava that his leadership will be one that is committed to finding solutions for their challenges.
“I have walked the same roads, stood in the same queues, and experienced the frustration of unfulfilled promises. The people of Malava need a leader who will listen,especially to our farmers, our women, and our youth," he said.
He added: "I am ready to work for the people of Malava, and I will work hand in hand with the DNA Party to ensure that their voices are not just heard, but acted upon," he added, promising to deliver the seat for his new party.

DNA Secretary General Barack Muluka affirmed that the party has no plans to relinquish its candidature for a coalition partner outfit.
"We want to compete as political parties. And I must say that we have not agreed with any political party for a joint ticket...But we welcome them to join us," he said. "We want the people of Malava to narrow down to quality and value."
