Standard Group journalist Josphat Thiong'o voted as KPJA's Liaison

Standard Group Parliamentary Journalist, Josphat Thiong’o has been voted as the Liaison for Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association (KPJA) for a period of two years.
Thiong’o bagged the seat of Liaison Officer after beating Boniface Okendo, a colleague at the Standard Group, in an election held yesterday.
"I'm deeply humbled and honored to have been elected as the Liaison for the Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association (KPJA). I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone that was in my corner. I'm now ready to champion the building of bridges between the Association and other stakeholders moving forward for the growth of this Association," Thiong’o said.
Others voted in were Moses Odhiambo of Radio Africa, who will now serve as KPJA’s Chairman.
He takes over from NTV's Duncan Khaemba, who retires having served for two consecutive terms.

Capital FM's Irene Mwangi is now the Association’s Vice President, while Elizabeth Mutuku of TV47 was elected Treasurer.
Edwin Obuya of Radio Citizen was elected unopposed as Secretary General of the Association, while Citizen TV's Emmanuel Too was also elected unopposed as Organising Secretary.
Collins Omulo of the Daily Nation will now the Deputy Secretary General.
Media Relations Officer, James Macharia, was seconded from Speaker Moses Wetang’ula's office to oversee the elections as the Returning Officer.
